• Negative: Unmanned reception desk. There was hardly ever anyone on reception. Sometimes I waited 10 minutes for someone to come. Sorry, but that is disappointing. When I checked-out I told the lady that it was the first time I'd found someone on the desk. Rather than apologising she insisted that there's always someone on the desk, but my experience showed that this was blatantly not true. I'd phoned to extend my stay by an extra night, and they confirmed it had been done by telephone, but they didn't add the extra night and I was locked out of my room before my final night. The guy on the desk sorted it very quickly, but I was waiting for about 10 minutes for anyone to come to the reception desk.

• Quietness: 5 Generally good, but there are two bars opposite, and at about 1 am the council come to pick up waste from right outside the hotel, which is quite noisy and lasts about 5-10 minutes.
