• Lage: 10 Right on La Rambla which is always pleasantly bussling with people, street entertainers and vendors, central to the majority of Barcelona%27s sights, and the water front restaurant district. For any coffee addicts there is a Starbucks right next door.
• Einrichtungen und Service: 7,5 The lobby and bar are attractive and comfortable, with a blend of colonial & modern style. The spa area is reasonably well equipped, though the pool can feel quite small when busy due to the water features that can take up half the pool area. We didn%27t use the gym but it appeared to have several pieces of fitness equipment. The massage was not the best I have had, but very good. There is also a sauna and a steam room. We did not use the restaurant. There is a quiet library with public access computers with internet.
• Personal: 10 We found all staff to be friendly, courteous and helpful. We pestered them on several occasions for advice, help and directions as well as restaurant bookings and always felt like guests rather than a burden to them. I had prearranged champagne and flowers in the room on our arrival and the flower presentation was wonderful.
• Ruhe: 5 We had a Superior Room which faces onto La Rambla, which meant there was some crowd and road noise at night, it didn%27t really trouble us, but am just giving an honest rating.
• Zimmer: 7,5 The room styles appear to be based on combinations of white, with blue or black or red or green. The web site photos I think show black, we had red, which was very attractive and restful. The room was large enough, didn%27t feel cramped, with a very good sized bed as well as table and chairs. The wardrobe space was reasonable, plenty sufficient for our long weekend. The bathroom was well equipped with an oversized shower head which was lovely. We were on the 4th floor overlooking La Ramblas so could not complain about the view. There is a 26inch or so LCD TV in the room which carried several spanish channels as well as CNN and BBC World Service. Also a streamed music system allowing 4 %27styles%27 to be selected from. I liked the use of modern room features which I had not seen before, eg the electronic do not disturb, and automated room lighting system with preprogrammed lighting levels. My one criticism is that there are no ironing facilities. I have been told before in European countries that this is due to the fire risk, but it meant paying for the laundry service just to iron shirts and trousers. However I must complement them on their speed, clothes were back in the room within a couple of hours on the day we arrived.
• Preis-Leistungs: 10 We felt that whilst the hotel is certainly not the cheapest we could have chosen, the quality and service meant that we considered it very good value for money, and would certainly consider staying there again should we return.
