  • Negativ: This was a terrible memory, and it affected our mood in our trip. The hostel seems to be alright, from the time we booked it from the internet, they have replied us, and they claimed they have English speaking staff! But that is just the beginning of our nightmare. 4 days before we arrived, I have asked them through email if we would have a permission to check in earlier. They replied us through email said “If room is available, it is no problem.”We want to check in early because my wife and I travelled all around Spain and Madrid is our last stop. We travelled from Granada by autobus (overnight) and we reached Madrid at 7am. After taking off from the metro, we searched for the hostel, luckily we found that in ten minutes from the exit of the metro. When we rang the bell, a very impolite voice spoke to us, with a very strange sound. Finally we got into the hostel. As the label outside the door said that the hostel is located in the 3/F, therefore we travelled by a so-called lift to the 3/F. When we got into the corridor, that’s no light and nobody was there! We walked around and found that there were a lot of empty rooms. Then suddenly a voice came out from the speaker saying that the reception counter is on the 1/F! O… my wife and I noticed that the name of the hostel in the 1/F is totally different! But that’s alright, we went down again. Finally I met HIM. He asked me for any proof of booking! It was real strange, he is not asking me a passport but something like an email notice! I haven’t print that out so I said no, then he think for a while and then ask me for the passport. I wait there, and my wife is really tired. We just hoped to have a room immediately! After the process, he told me that you have to put your luggage in the kitchen as we cannot give you the room NOW! Then I talked to him as one of your staffs promised to give me a room. He said “NO WAY, you have to wait until 10 to 11, maybe I can give you the room!” We have no choice but to wait. However my wife is really sick, then I begged him for giving me a room. Then he said in a very rude way,“HAVE YOU READ THE INSTRUCTION?”I told him that I know the instruction but what I am talking is the email! He DID NOT understand me and then he ran away! I keep on talking to him then he finally gave me a room, saying that, “Either you accept this small room or you have to wait until 11.”I went upstair again to check the room, though it is not big, but you know, WE want to take a rest rather than a real big room at the moment, so we accept his offer. Finally we got into the room. It’s already 8 something and the only thing we want to do is … SLEEP!! I tried to turn on the air-conditioner..but it didn’t work! I tried again and again, I even changed the battery of the remote! NOT working! Then I called the reception. He used his “ENGLISH”and tell me that I will come. Then I waited for 5 minutes. No one came! Then I tried again, it worked! Ooooo, maybe he used the ENGLISH is not the universal one! Seems to be alright? Not really! 3 hours later, I woke up. It is not because I slept enough, it is because I felt very hot. I noticed that the air-conditioner turned off! Then I rang to the reception again! He replied me “I will fix it.”Then I waited and waited. And finally it didn’t work! So we give up! You know, when the sun is up there, it is real hot in Madrid! Then suddenly, someone used a key to open our room door! It was the cleaner! How impolite it was! My wife and I were very upset about that. All these things affected our mood very much. And you know what, the cleaner will come to your every morning without noticing you! And the air conditioner will be turned off “AUTOMATICALLY” by the reception counter at 7 am everyday! We spent there for 3 nights, and these nights were the most horrible nights in our trip! I highly urged you not to choose this one in Madrid! Don’t save your money!
